Lori's hand quivered as she looked down at the paper on the table, one of many papers she had seen before just like it. She held her coffee cup in her hands and took a small sip before setting it down. She was sitting outside one of the many cafes in the town, a place where she often came to think.
Lori pulled out a pen from her bag and stared down at the paper. She sighed heavily as she read the words 'parent's signature' and felt a small pain in her chest. She brought down her pen to write but stopped and hesitated. It's not like it was difficult for her. She had forged her mother's signature on many occasions when it was needed. There was no actual parents to sign it for her after all. But then why did she get this nagging, guilty feeling?

Prop hummed to himself cheerfully as he ordered a cup of coffee. He ran a hand through his now short black hair and pulled a face. Curse Marion for making him get a haircut. He paid for his drink and thanked the waitress with a smile, sitting down at a table near Lori's. He blew on the coffee and drank some of it, smiling as it made him more awake. Marion was going to hate him forever. He chuckled slightly and looked up at the ceiling.

Lori set her pen down with a sigh and closed her eyes, leaning her head against her hand. She'd do it after she finished her coffee. She nodded to herself and moved her hand back down, accidentally knocking her coffee off the table and onto the ground, spilling it everywhere. She cursed under her breath and quickly stood up, grabbing a few napkins to clean up the mess she made. "Stupid klutz.." She muttered to herself.

Prop looked up when he heard the coffee cup hit the ground and frowned slightly. He stood silently, grabbed some napkins of his own and bent down, helping her clean up the mess. "You know" he said conversationally as he cleaned. "Coffee's better in your mouth than on the floor" he grinned playfully at her, his eyes sparkling with amusement and life.

Lori looked up, surprised, and stared at him for a moment before looking back down. She grabbed more napkins and wiped away the spilt coffee. "Really?" She said with a raised eyebrow, sarcasm clear in her voice. "I guess I've been doing it wrong then." She picked up the coffee cup and threw it and the napkins away in the garbage can.

"From what I can see.. yeah and you know...Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit." He chuckled and stood up. Still amused he sat back down with his cup. "Oh and you're welcome." he smiled into his cup. Inwardly he sighed, feeling a bit strange around this girl. When he had first looked up at her he felt detached from his own body and she was the only thing keeping him grounded. Jesus he didn't even know her name. What was wrong with him?

Lori rolled her eyes slightly at him. "Thank you." She sat back down at her table and propped her arms up, resting her chin on her hands. She mumbled to herself quietly. She had just bought that cup too. She took out her wallet and opened it, checking how much money she had left. She grimaced. She only had enough for this week's groceries, the last of her extra money just spent on the cup of coffee. She sighed quietly and put it back into her bag. She'd have to wait until her next paycheck.

Prop looked over at her quietly and spotted her looking through her wallet. He thought for a moment then pulled out enough for a new cup and reached over to put the money on the table. "My treat" he smiled. "Sorry for being so rude." He then went back to his own coffee, thinking about what was going on with him at the moment. He frowned slightly and dragged his fingers through his messy black hair slowly.

Lori looked up, surprised at what the boy just did. She looked down at the money then back up and stared at him. Why did he do that? Did he feel sorry for her for dropping her cup? Standing up, she picked up the money and placed it in front of him. "Here... You shouldn't try to waste money on strangers." She said as she moved her hand away.

Prop rolled his eyes and grabbed her hand gently. "Hi. I'm Prop. Now if you tell me your name, we won't be strangers and you can take the money" he shook his head and put the money into her hand and closed her fist over it. "Seriously. Just take it, buy a new cup of coffee or i'm buying it for you" he chuckled.

Lori bit down the urge to pull her hand away and kept her cool. "My name's Lori. And I'm still not taking your money." She opened her fist and tilted her hand slightly so the money fell onto the table. "Nice to meet you though."

"You too Lori." Good he knew her name. He was surprised at how easy it rolled off his lips. He stood up with the money and went to order her a coffee anyway. When the waitress handed him the cup, he took it and put it on Lori's table. "I'm very stubborn. And like I said. my treat. you can knock it off if you want." he eyes danced in amusement. "I don't care what you do with it. But it's yours"

Lori let out a defeated sigh and sat down, taking the cup of coffee. It would be a waste to not accept it now. "Fine." She blew on it before taking a small sip. "You're right about one thing. You sure are stubborn." She looked up and finally had a chance to take a good look at him. He looked good-looking. Enough for for him to probably have a few girls fawning over him. But he looked like a practical joker as well. She shook her head and took another sip of her coffee.

Prop laughed. "That's what Faye and Mari tell me" he smiled fondly. "my girls..Although Mari is going to kill me." he grinned slightly and drank more of his coffee. "and by my girls.. i mean the people i live with. Marion's my cousin and Faye's her niece." he suddenly laughed. "and I have no idea why i'm telling you this. Sorry." he smiled. "I'll stop bothering you." he checked his watch then his phone quietly and put the phone on the table.

Lori felt a small smile spread across her face. "No need to apologize. It's nice to hear someone talk about their lives other than Chris." Ah yes. Chris. She was amazed that she was able to get away from her for so long. She was usually always around her, talking. She often wondered why the teen had attached herself to her when she first came and moved here. She shook her head and cleared her thoughts, drinking more of the coffee. Her eyes then began to wander back down to the paper on the table.
