Liar at heart

"That's a very kind thing to do." She was tapping her pen against the paper as she talked. "You'd be surprised at how many people need help in their lives." She gave him a real smile then stopped her tapping, putting her pen back down.

Prop nodded. "It's why I try to help" he chuckled softly. "You'd see me everywhere to be honest. I've been at the hospital, orphanages, homeless shelters.. anywhere i can.. just offer help. Just offering to read the orphans books, being a big brother to them.. It's just satisfying to see how people smile when I help" He nodded and leaned back in his chair.

Lori couldn't help but laugh as she listened to him. "You sound like a saint to me." She shook her head, still smiling.

Prop laughed. "Me? A saint?" he shook his head. "Not really." he shrugged. "I just like to help people but i'm not really all that good." he frowned slightly but shook his head.

"Well you sound a lot better than other people I know." Lori ran a hand through her hair and sighed quietly. She closed her eyes, which had softened during the conversation, then opened them again.

"Thanks" He grinned slightly. "Marion would say i'm anything but saint-like though" He smiled proudly. "She says i'm a pain in the neck and she often says she can't stand me" He shrugs. "I pull a few pranks is all. She never smiles, plus the pranks cheer Faye up." He chuckled

Lori looked up and smiled. "Your family sure sounds interesting. Better than mine right now." She nodded to herself.

"Interesting is a good word to use" he nodded. He pulled a face when his phone started to ring and picked it up. "One second" he smiled and pressed the answer button. He held it to his ear and grimaced when he heard Marion yelling abuse at him which was extremely loud and some people in the cafe turned around in surprise.

Lori raised an eyebrow as she heard the yelling come from the phone. She propped her arm up and leaned her head against her hand. "Looks like someone's angry at you." She said quietly with a small smirk, amused.

Prop held the phone away from his ear as Marion yelled some inventive curses at me. "Marion's angry at everyone" he grinned. Once the shouting had died down and held the phone closer. "Chill Mari. I'm in a public place." he rolled his eyes slightly. "No. I'll talk to you about it later. Yes i'm, sure you'll prefer beating me up to screaming at me. Bye." He hung up and shook his head. "Sorry."

"Hey it's cool." Lori smiled. She glanced at the phone then back at him. "So what was that about anyway?" She blinked, realizing what she asked then shook her head.
"I'm sorry, that was rude of me to ask. It's your personal life." She said, clasping her hands together. "Heh, I guess I'm just naturally curious."

"Nah it's fine" he smiled. "Marion doesn't appreciate my jokes and pranks. Mainly because they're pulled on her. I think one might of gone wrong." his eyes danced. "or maybe it went right. Knowing her you can never tell." he chuckled and put the phone in his pocket.

"Pranks huh?" Lori couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Pranks just seem stupid. All it ever does is make people angry." She shrugged slightly. "Then again, what do I know."

"Not everyone" Prop smiled. "I know a lot of people who laugh pranks off. Even when it happens to them." he nodded.

"I don't know a lot of people that would do that." Lori said, fumbling her thumbs together. She looked at him and finally noticed his eyes. They were such a deep blue and seemed to be so full of life and joy. They were nice, beautiful even.
She looked down at her hands in embarrassment when she realized she was staring. She blushed slightly, feeling heat on her cheeks from it. What was she doing?
