Faye's hand reached out to gently slide across the spines of the old books on the shelves. Her smile was bright but her eyes were troubled and sad. She sighed heavily, closing her chocolate brown eyes and running a hand through her curly blonde hair. She pulled a tome from the shelf and sat on a comfy chair, contemplating life and why it sucked.
It had been over 3 years since her parents had divorced. She hadn't heard from her father or twin brother since. Her mother had killed herself just over a year ago, taken an overdose. She bit her lip and held back her tears as she thought of her broken family.
Living with aunt Marion and her cousin Prop wasn't so bad. It was like having parents again. Prop loved her and treated her like a daughter and Mari was protective...but still. She missed her biological parents.
Sighing again, Faye opened the tome and began to read it.

Elen was looking for a lot of text books since her younger sister,Lilith,was failing school.''And here's another one.''she placed the 4th book in her sister's arms.
''This is too heavy.''Lilith finally said after a few seconds of holding all four books.She quickly glanced at faye and looked at her with worried eyes.Then she focused her mind on Elen.

Faye's eyes skimmed the pages of the tomes in interest, absorbing every word. She felt at peace here in the bookstore. It was her sanctuary. Her haven. Jessica Evans and her posse never came in here so Faye felt safe for one of the few rare moments of her life.

''Come on.Let's go.''Elen ordered and started walking to check out the books.Lilith's arms could not hold the books much longer.She started following Elen,but soon she accidentally droppped the books on the ground.''Oh man!''she groaned and quickly knelt down to pick up the books before her sister could see then would scold at her.

Faye blinked and looked up to glance at Lilith. Feeling sympathetic to her plight, she put the tome down and walked over to help her pick up the books. She smiled slightly. "Are you ok?"

While hurrying to pick up the books,Lilith didn't even notice Faye was there.''Huh?Oh..yea..I am.Thanks.''She stood up and took a look at Faye.A small smile crawled across her face as she thanked her again.
Elen turned her head to see that Lilith wasn't behind her.She ran back to where Lilith and Faye were and glared at her.''What are you still doing here?We're supposed to be at home less than 30 minutes!''she scolded.

"Whoa. Chill out" Faye said quietly to Elen. "She just dropped her books. Not her fault" She handed the books she had collected back to Lilith. "And you're welcome" she smiled softly and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

Elen let out a small sigh.''Sorry.It's just that Lilith is flunking school and she needs to study.''
''But..I am studying!Its just that..um..well..erm..''She had a hard time making up an excuse and rubbed the back of her neck.

"You need to plan out your time correctly" Faye said softly. "Either that or get a tutor. You can even ask for a student tutor to help you in the areas you're stuggling with."

Faye smiled. "At the school. If you ask Student services, they have a list of people willing to be tutors. I am one of those people." she shrugged. "But it depends on what you're having difficulty with."

''Well..we are thinking about transferring to a new school,since this one has a LOT of bullies,preps,ect.But we don't know what school to transfer in.''Elen frowned.Lilith rubbed her head and giggled quietly.''I'm kinda having trouble with...well...um..everything..''But she failed to mention that she was good at art.

"Cliche high" Faye said immediately, smiling. "Go there. My friend, Rose is school president... It's a wonderful school and no-one's divided and everyone likes each other." She looked at Lilith. "I excel at the sciences and math. I'm pretty darn good with English too" she smiled.

Faye smiled "It's nice to meet you both. I'm Faye Redwood-Viva." She shook her head slightly. "Not really. I'm rubbish at Geography and other subjects. I just work really hard"
