She smiled back slightly but she still looked quite confused putting the purse back "Oh i see." she was wondering was he just different? maybe cj wasnt a normal guy? well it isnt normal to beat girlfrends but i thought it was normal for a girlfrend to pay for her own stuff on a date? right...

He ordered two chocolate ice creams and paid, handing Rose one with a small smile.
"Anything you want to get is on me today Rose" he said, still smiling

Rose smiled at him warmly not wanting to get upset about her past she did feel safe with Adam anyway she though to herself "Thankyou" and began to lick her icecream

Rose stopped to talk to him "So... you dated jess? may i ask why" she blushed she felt evil and changed the way it sounded "i mean why did you fall for her." she cringed.

"She seemed nice" he sighed. "I have to say i was wearing rose tinted glasses." he nodded. "I couldn't see her for what she really was... I only saw what I wanted to see" he frowned.

Adam stiffened immediately.
There were a few things he hated most in this world. His father, Jessica and men who actually hit their girlfriends.
"He hit you?" He asked and his voice was cold. "He doesn't deserve to live" he turned to look at her. "Listen to me." he said seriously. "You are the sweetest, funniest, prettiest and most wonderful girl i've ever met. You did not deserve what he did to you and it is most certainly not your fault." He had dropepd the ice cream in a bin at this point and was speaking softly, soothingly.

Rose sighed slightly "Cant help but think it was, i mean it was fine the first couple weeks then it just went downhill... it mustve been me" she threw her own icecream in the bin.

Adam shook his head fervently.
"Have you ever considered that maybe it was him?" he asked, quietly. "That maybe it was the fact that he was a low life scumbag?" He clenched his fists slightly. "Domestic abuse..." he said slowly "is serious. Most girls in your place always think it's their fault." he gently placed his arms on her shoulder and said softly "But it's not Rose." he gently kissed her forehead.
